Attic Insulation Removal in Texarkana, TX

Attic insulation removal is the right move when what is up there is doing more harm than good. Signs it should come out

Seal while it is bare

An empty attic floor is the easiest time to seal every gap in the ceiling. We seal top plates, chases, lights, wiring and the hatch before new insulation goes in.

Vermiculite

If we find vermiculite, we stop and recommend testing. Some contains asbestos, and removal is a job for a licensed abatement contractor. HomeAdvisor lists asbestos removal at $1,190 to $3,255.

Spray foam removal

Foam has to be cut or scraped out, which costs more per square foot than loose fill. We quote it after seeing it.

Re-insulating

After cleanup and sealing, we install blown-in to the depth you choose, or foam on the roof deck where that suits the house. If pests caused the problem, have a pest control company close entry points first. If moisture caused it, the roof or ventilation gets fixed before new insulation.
